How can we see beneath a plant without digging it up? Our capstone team explored acoustic tomography to image the soil surrounding plant roots using sound measurements.
My contribution: I developed a Python simulation with a teammate to test image reconstruction using SIRT. I also explored Siddon's algorithm to improve ray calculations, with promising preliminary results.
